The first day of Spring this year was directly followed by the first day of no-masks here in Ontario (in most spaces), and that semblance of normalcy makes coming out of the depths of winter feel so much better than I remember. Who knows whether or not we’ll continue moving forward since that hasn’t exactly happened in the past, but for now I’m so excited to at least have warmer weather ahead of us.

With the rising temperatures comes a decrease of layers, and SO much more freedom when it comes to getting dressed, and there are a handful of Spring 2022 trends I’m SO excited to bring to life:

TAILORING/SUITS – I LOVE a good suit and need make use of my collection much more often. I would like to find a few more oversized blazer options which can be tricky with tall proportions but I’ve got a royal blue one from Missguided I love the fit of. The one thing I don’t own though is a cropped blazer, but I THINK I’ve got a few I might be able to DIY….

BRIGHT COLOURS/COORDS – I can never say no to a good co-ord, but I didn’t know how much I loved a bright one until I bought a hot pink plisse co-ord set from Boohoo. I’ve yet to find the perfect event to wear the set together, but I know it’ll be sometime this season!!

FRINGE – My collection of fringed pieces is not nearly what I want it to be and with it being so hot this season, this needs to change. I’ve been holding onto a fringed skirt for YEARS that I’m sure I’ll be able to put to use this season, but what I really want is a statement fringed jacket (specifically this one from MasterSupplyCo.)

GREEN – I’ve been seeing a gorgeous Emerald green everywhere going into Spring so I KNEW that green would be trending all season, but what I wasn’t expecting was the spectrum of greens on the runways, and I’m loving all of it!! So this little gift from Long Tall Sally arrived at the perfect time and is giving me serious Spring vibes. BRING ON THE NICE WEATHER!

Quick note about my outfit: The sizing is perfect! I normally wear a size 6 and I chose a size US6 in the jacket and leggings and jacket, and US4-6 in the top. I’m obsessed with the jacket!! The only downside with the leggings is the material. I’ll definitely be wearing this set to the gym, but the material is not quite what I prefer and I love a legging that has a thicker band for more of a control top feel. Aesthetically though, 10/10. I meannnn just look at it!
