Tall Thrifting??! || The Tall Exchange

When I’m bored or stressed, I often get the itch to shop online. Over the last few weeks there’s been an abundance of boredom AND stress, but with my current limited income situation I’m doing my best to exercise self control (not easy with all the sales I keep seeing, and I’ve definitely given in a few times). There’s been a LOT of window shopping, and the wishlists on all my favourite sites have been growing. I keep feeling the need to buy new things for my apartment since I spend SO much time at home, but then also want to refresh my wardrobe so that I can serve some straight up fire looks when we’re allowed to leave the house again. The struggle. Is. REAL!! lol
Real talk though, if anyone else has found themselves in the same boat, I apologize ahead of time for the information I’m about to share. Not that I’m encouraging spending extra money… but….. you must know…. *devilish smile*

I recently had a chat with Bree Wijnaar, founder of The Tall Society, about her latest passion project: The Tall Exchange. If you’ve yet to hear about this platform, it’s essentially a Depop or Poshmark style site, BUT FOR US TALL GIRLS (AND GUYS). I don’t know about you, but I was SO excited to hear about it. I feel like like I’m never really able to shop second-hand because tall items are so limited and because and finding them amongst all the standard sized items feels next to impossible. I also feel like the timing is perfect. I mean.. I probably shouldn’t be spending too much unnecessary money, but if I do, I feel way better about buying from and supporting my peers, and giving new love to  thrifted pieces. Not only that, but a good closet cleanup is way overdue, and having the option to sell a few items of my own to an audience who would actually appreciate the length and fit, would be a nice way to make a few extra bucks for groceries.

I’ve yet to go through my closet and am unsure if I’m quite ready to part with any of the tall pieces in my wardrobe, but I’ve already started browsing the site and am SO excited to see it grow. That’s why I’m spreading the news. The more tall babes that know about it, the more diverse the sizing and styles will become. Finally having a specific space to shop and sell TALL second-hand items could be a game changer and I’m all about it!

Not tall, but know some tall friends? Pass along the message (specifically if they wear a size 6 and have some things they want to get rid of… I’d love some more options!)
