One of my first loves has always been music, and every time I get to enjoy live music I’m always kicking myself for not doing so more often. Growing up listening almost exclusively to country music, I was SO excited to get to go to Boots&Hearts country music festival for the second consecutive time this past weekend (see last year HERE).
There were so many amazing artists this year, but there were two that made my entire weekend, both of which played on Saturday; The Abrams, and JJ Shiplett. I’m by no means a music blogger (lol these days I’m barely even a fashion blogger), BUT, I can not say enough about both of these performances. The Abrams had a killer fiddle that gave me exactly the kind of country music I had been craving the whole weekend, and JJ Shiplett has the kind of voice that melts my soul. His smooth and raspy vocals almost made up for the fact that I missed out on another favourite artist of mine that night at home in Toronto (James Arthur.. basically crying forever for missing out on his show).
As excited as I get for the music, I’m almost just as excited (though much more stressed) when it comes to picking out festival outfit. And just when I thought I’d had it all planned out, the weather forecast and potential for a rainy weekend made me rethink my entire fashion lineup. I decided this year to keep things relatively simple, and played up the country vibes more than I did last year (I even bought myself a cowboy hat on the Thursday night!). Expect me to look this fabulous at some late summer food festivals because who said festival fashion ends with music?!
