Thanksgiving 2o16

photo-2016-10-08-6-35-35-pmIt’s Turkey Day here in Canada! It’s still a work day for me, but I was fortunate enough to celebrate Thanksgiving with some of my family on Saturday. I don’t always get back home to see family at this time of year but when I can it’s one of my favourite visits. Not only are there incredible amounts of food to indulge in, but it’s a chance to reconnect with family that I don’t often get to visit with. I come from an extremely large extended family, for which I am forever grateful, and I’m also thankful that there has never been a moment I’ve felt a lack of love from them.

I kept my outfit simple and cozy with this sweater dress from Long Tall Sally. It’s a chic and classy look, but casual and perfect for lounging around, playing catch up with my cousins. Not gonna lie, a few of my aunts were eyeing up this dress, each offering to “take it off my hands” if my closet was getting too full. Let’s be honest, a closet can never REALLY be too full!

I was really excited when my mom told me that my baby sister had been taking a photography course. I jumped on the opportunity and asked if she’d mind being this week’s blog photographer. I think she did a pretty great job. Before you know it, she’ll be shooting fully styled creatives and editorials for me 🙂 (now if only she were closer).

Also, did you  notice the tiny bracelet I’m wearing? Made in support of Jordana’s Rainbows, a fund made to support DIPG research at Sick Kids Hospital. They come in every colour of the rainbow, each colour representing different chakras. The green thread represents the Heart Chakra (love, compassion and empathy). To learn more about their story, be sure to check out their Facebook and Instagram, or even make a donation HERE if the cause resonates with you. ❤
